Unique, Eclectic Fine & Fashion Jewelry with a Modern Vintage Twist

Born and raised in the heart of the Midwest, CJ Johnson, owner and designer of Bien-aimé, grew up with a passion for creating beautiful things.  As a child, she learned from her mother how to knit and sew, and how to appreciate all things vintage, especially jewelry.

 

CJ took her first jewelry class at age 15 and fell in love.  She went on to earn a BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design.  For almost two decades, she has worked as a designer for major jewelry companies on the East Coast and in the Midwest, most recently as Senior Designer at Silpada.

From Kansas City to New York, from Paris to Thailand, CJ has traveled extensively in her career, observing the fashion and style of women from different countries and these experiences have shaped her design aesthetic.

In 2016, Bien-aimé was launched by CJ and her husband, a jewelry line that melds vintage and modern aesthetics and is designed exclusively by CJ in Kansas City.

Bien-aimé, a French translation, was derived from the couples nickname for each other: beloved.
